I figured since I spend hours scouring design magazines, websites and home stores I should pass on to you, what is the NOW for 2013 and what the "experts" are saying is coming for the next year in interior design.
Here is my top 10 design trends for 2013 spread out over the next 10 days...
Trend #1 - GEOMETRIC Patterns
Continuing on from 2012, geometric patterns are still showing up everywhere in interior design. From bold wallpaper, to tile backslash, from upholstery fabrics to area rugs. Pretty much the sky is the limit.
And it seems these days the bolder the colours the better. Keep in mind, like any bold design statement, less is usually more. Allow your design to have highs and lows when it comes to seeking attention. If you are using a geometric pattern in high contrasting colours then use it in small doses like throw pillows or accent pieces. In contrast, if you are in love with the pattern and want it to drive your design, then plan your space around it. Either way the geometric pattern will have the highest impact without giving you a design headache.
